I honestly can't figure out what any of your sentences mean.

The fan not coming on can be caused by many things:

1) Bad fan
2) Bad wiring/connection somewhere
3) Bad fan relay
4) Bad fuse

Yep, used some similar tubing from a car acessory shop. It now nicely gently snaps on and I am free to do what I like with my knees! Thanks all.

It could be a dodgy cell. Measure the voltage with battery on the bike and see what happens to it when you turn the ignition.
