I honestly can't figure out what any of your sentences mean.

The fan not coming on can be caused by many things:

1) Bad fan
2) Bad wiring/connection somewhere
3) Bad fan relay
4) Bad fuse
5) ...

It wasn't the valve core, it was the complete thing. I'd always have it changed along with a tyre but there was plenty of life left in tyre and it had been fitted by the previous owner. Just something ...

It could be a dodgy cell. Measure the voltage with battery on the bike and see what happens to it when you turn the ignition.
