Here we have my BMW K1100LT, 1993, Mileage reads 11672 but ether its done a lot more or its lived outside until i got it, I think it was a police bike in the past as it has a lot of switches that are ...

I'm compiling a list of bits for the rebuild, so far i need a friction plate, 6 Allen head bolts and washers and Spline lube but is there anything else i need to replace ?

I am hoping i don't need ...

Any idea what would cause this to happen to the friction plate ?

Right, Gearbox out, I had to take the exhaust off but only snapped one stud, Didn't have to take the ABS off just strapped it up out of the way.

Dropped the oil out tonight but it was fine, Its just the sight glass, its got milky gunk on the inside just like you get on the on the inside of the oil filler cap Wink

I have milky oil but a mate had a look and just thinks its condensation, I'm going to put some new oil in first as I'm not sure how old the oil is in there at the moment.

I ran the bike just about dry and this is what i found, The fuel light came on at 129 miles the bike started missing on acceleration at 160 miles and was about empty at 180 miles.

What engine oil are you chaps using in the UK ? Is there something i can get from Halfords or a local Motor discount centre as these bikes have a dry clutch ?

At the moment I'm only getting 130/150 miles to a tank of gas, any ideas how i can improve on that, What can cause low MPG ?
