This is a Staintune that I picked up on eBay last year for <$100. One of the header flange welds was busted but I stopped by my welder guy's shop and he'd finally gotten around to it. (He's had it for over two months.)
Since the can's stainless looked like dog poo I had it ceramic coated at a local place for $50. I chose black for low maintenance because it's such a pain to get road tar spots off.
The flat black looks a little utilitarian but what the heck. For $50 I can always get it coated in silver if I want.
I"m pretty sure that it weighs a lot less than the stock exhaust too.
But the best part is that I don't have to take that stock exhaust off to get my rear tire off. I can just remove the Staintune can which is massively easier.

???
I've always taken the rear fender off (pretty easy) instead of the exhaust. Is taking the muffler off easier? _________________ tlp

Tried that - no worky. At least on my bike it gets caught between the caliper and exhaust. Could be the tire width though. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Yours is an LT - much thinner rear wheel. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

On my RS, I only have to remove the rear fender and the rear caliper to pull the wheel. Pulling the whole exhaust sounds like a nightmare. _________________ '93 K1100RS

Picked up our new (to us) K-RS about a week ago and due to the snow I have only had it out once.
So with all that time on my hands- I read the owners manual!
I haven't removed the rear wheel yet so I was surprised when I saw that fender and caliper removal was involved (as shown in the manual).
The manual is mostly a waste of time- telling me not to drink various fluids, motorcycling is dangerous, etc... but it does have a few valuable pieces of info.

Just found these questions.
The sound is fine. It's quiet enough which is all that matters to me.
Performance? Don't know. My butt dynamometer isn't calibrated. Seems fine though.
I actually think the factory exhaust looks better but prefer this overall due to less wieght, easier to clean(or leave dirty) and it makes it easier to get the rear wheel off. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

The Black Mambo is not for sale.
I have two factory exhausts for sale. One is the 33k one form that bike (which I think I just sold this morning.) The other is the one from my 60k parts bike. For the low low price of only $150 'cuz it ain't a beauty queen. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
