You missed this?:

I have yet to purchase something from FD, but I suspect it's just a matter of time. I kid around about his commercial pursuits, but I'm guessing his goods are fairly priced compared to other outlets.
And where else can you get a guage cluster LED upgrade kit?
Another one of those things I didn't know I needed. Someday... _________________ tlp

And the saga continues...
Pulled the pump, man you gotta get your hand just right to get to those nuts. I'll apply power from a 12V source tomorrow to see if the pump works. The fuel pump strainer bag was busted open at one end so I'm getting a replacement, not sure if that caused the problem (?)
I guess if the pump turns over then I'll still need a fuel sender unit

And too bad, FD's price is a lot better. |

| Using my old BMW battery, which still has charge, I hooked up wires to it and laid those on the pump, nothing, not a peep. So from that I assume that the pump is dead. Now all I'm waiting for is the new pump strainer bag and I'll install the new pump I have. Five weeks and counting till I leave for my trip, 4,000+ miles. |

I just replaced mine with the NAPA Fuel pump and saved big $$$.
BMW wants way too much for thiers and I think this unit will last longer.
I think I screwed my pump up when I emptied the tank of fuel for an extended time when I was R&R the engine output shaft, never will do that again...
http://www.ibmwr.org/ktech/fuel-pump-install.shtml has great instructions on how to do this....

The article does great at explaining how to do this job, thanks for listing it, it's exactly how I did mine. The only (minor) differences for the K11 is that it has five mount nuts and collar washers, at first I thought I'd missed one but I did a recount . And the postive wire on the K11 is brown, not white. But maybe it turns brown from exposure to gasoline?
I kinda wish I'd tried the NAPA pump, especially with what a BMW model costs . Chicago BMW seems to have the best prices.
As I've said before. The K11OG forum is an incredible resource for K11 owners |
