Ironically, I'm currently riding a loaner R1150 ROCKster while my K is on the rack! My dogs went apeshit when the house shook this morning... pretty exciting, and no damage Very Happy

I'm having LOTS of fun with this bike Very Happy

It has an awesome, torquey grunt to it, and it handles like a dream. With the wide handlebars I throw it all over the place, and it just begs for more, and begs to go faster! If I had the means, I would buy it for a local hell-raising bike, but it can't replace my K with the amount of riding I do. Besides, I'm a true believer in the benefits of a liqiud cooled engine...

I dunno- an "R" BMW is starting to look good. Hit 80 degrees here today for the first time this year. The K is throwing off a lot of heat- can't imagine what mid-summer will feel like in a 2 piece suit.

Maybe a BMW R engine is the ticket (sorry if this is heresy here)

Was thinking the same thing today John.

Stuck in traffic for 45 mins today and the temp was pegged one bar from the red the whole time.

It's just a cold weather bike, and try as I might, I can't get comfortable or used to running a bike that hot.

Regarding the R, it's a very cool hooligan bike, albeit pretty one-dimensional.

With my budget there is no room for gimmicky bikes....which is why I love the brick because it does so many things so well.

i was on my R bike last week in the mts, in the 40/50 range.....my legs were COLD.......Had my Gerbing on Full....BUT in the summer, its great....those cyls sticking out stay very cool....

The K heat is nice 7 months a year and a bitch the rest. The R coolness is great 3 months a year and not there the rest......

Rydor, are u riding the Rockster to HM??Awesome.

It's looking like I'll have my RS back up and running, stronger than ever, by then. In addition to the head gasket replacement, I'm having the valve seals redone. They did a leakdown test and the piston rings are still good, so the valve work should take care of my oil burning issue at high revs. I can't wait to see how she runs Very Happy
