Just wondering if anyone actually uses their electric windscreen on the LT.
I occasionally use mine if I get caught in the rain but otheriwse it stays down. The fixed windscreen on my K75RT worked better in the rain though because the K11LT windscreen lets a few drops of water get through from the bottom.
I think it's great when it's down though, I have a Parabellum +4 that's puts the wind/bugs,etc.... right over my head while still letting me look over, not through, it.
Just curious.... _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I use mine in a heavy rain - sometimes in high wind. Mine developed a peculiar quirk on the trip to Seattle - it vibrates! At 85+ it vibrates a lot - too much to ride with it up.
I don't think they gave the windscreens on the K11LTs a whole lot of thought - or maybe the wind tunnel was broken when they designed the windscreen.
There's a guy up in Canada (wish I could find his website again) who reworked his windscreen - says he gets lots better airflow and no more buffeting from the back. _________________ Jim

I only move windscreen up maybe in the rain and never use the heated grips. Good gloves and not many long rides in weather less than say 35F I guess. _________________ '93 K1100LT

I move mine up when it's windy or really cold or raining. Otherwise, it's mostly down. I tweak the height a tad. I'm running a Parabellum +2 screen. _________________ M N B

I keep mine up about an inch or two unless it raining. Then I lower it all the way and the wind stream hits my visor clearing it of rain droplets. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I raise mine up just enough to get out of the wind noise and then its a nice quiet ride. _________________ Rich

Normally, I keep mine up just enough to keep the wind right my helmet vents.
If-when- it gets 95+ I'll lower it to put the wind in my face.
If I get caught in the rain, I'll lower it to let the wind keep my face shield cleaner.

I just rebuilt mine.
Being 6'3" I almost always ride with it fully up....for some reason fully up it rides a good 2-3" lower than it used to, but it's perfect for cruising.
It's below eye level and pushes the air above my visor.
In the summer I ride with it down a lot. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

When I got my bike it had the stock windscreen on it. At 6-2, it blasted the wind right into my face. One of my first purchases was a +4 windscreen from Parabelum. When fully down, it does a perfect job of putting the wind over my head. Even riding at speed withoiut a helmet it even puts the bugs up over my head.
If you're tall, I'd highly recommend getting a Parabellum or Cee Bailey windscreen that's taller than stock. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I never liked the restricted visibility forward caused of the height of the mechanism and I never really used the power feature. I removed the whole deal and replaced it with a fixed system. I find I like it a lot more.
Of course I am also relatively short...

I use mine all the time around town. On city streets its down (hate looking through plastic) on the freeway its up. For touring it stays up.
That adjustable windscreen is a great gadget.
I recently upgraded to a CeeBailey and had a good experience with the vendor.
For windscreen mod check out a contrarian article in Robert Bezeau's K1100LT log a while back that suggested that a SMALLER windscreen could also help reduce wind noise.

I use the screen in loewst position only in the cities, and when on highways, i put it one notch down of higher position.
But always under my eyes line.
And I never moves it up to 30mh/h. It will take off the rails.

The adjustable wind screen is handy but stays fully down except for cold mornings, roads where 'stuff' is being kicked up by traffic, sudden hail storms and some areas of the country where large insects are flying.

I use mine all the time. Its down in the city and up just enough to push the wind over my head when on the highway. _________________ Luv'n the Brick

Mine is up & down like a fiddlers elbow.
Dependant upon prevailing wind, my speed, mood & ambient temperature, but usually 2" below highest. _________________ Regards Tim,
