here you go...
i so make a deal on some new z6s on the phone... 9am saturday... 1st come 1 served...
i get there at 8am to an empty parking lot... by 8:45 there about 10 bikes waiting in the lot...
at 9am an overhead door rolls open and everyone rides into the building except me because im not sure whats up...
i walk over to take a look and a man asks who is here for the z6s... i told him i was... he said pull it in to the front of the line that the tech is waiting... feeling good that i wasnt shuffled back i ride it in... then waited outside with my tank bag and side bags and stuff...
about 10:00 a man come out and says they can get the front bottom bolt out of the rear caliper... i went in and even with a 1/2" drive 30" breaker bar it would not budge... our only option at that point was to try penetrating fluid and some heat... i went back outside and hoped for the best...
after f ing with it for a long time... he suggested a crack with a hammer and a tug on the breaker bar... nothing doing... the hex stripped...
then he suggested a gizmo that would go over the bolt and when turned it would tooth into the bolt giving us more poop than the inner hex... they got it out that way... once out it was clear the bolt threads were rusted to the caliper threads...
so they get the tires one and the rear caliper back on but we need a new bolt... its a special one with a flange... the flange holds the abs wire... they rigged a standard but i still need the right one... its a 34511457496... item 4 here...
anyway... we all know about new tires... and we all know about new tires and freshly sealed mc dealer parking lots... right... well i finally get the motobrick and check for rotation arrows... so far so good... i pull out to the wide open area of the lot and start doing some slow figure eights and tight circles to get of scuff on the tires and i find my rear brake pedal goes all the way down and i aints gotts no rear brakes...
i roll it back in and they determine that when they put heat on the bolt the seals must have got some heat too... o my... can you believe this... they have the seals in stock... and after another 2 hours i finally get the bug eye motobrick... i pull out to the wide open area of the lot and start doing some slow figure eights and tight circles to get of scuff on the tires... when reinstalling my side bags a notice a nail in the brand new rear z6...
i roll it back in and knowing that i never even left their property they put another z6 on the rear... i pull out to the wide open area of the lot and start doing some slow figure eights and tight circles to get of scuff on the tires... all is well... i bag it back up and im ready to leave and i notice the last 3 numbers on my odometer are... 6 6 6...
there at 8am... gone at 3pm... no additional charge after the initial tire install... all is good... with the bad luck of the bolt and nail behind me... i can now look forward to mr crab... after we ride the chinoook of course on this cloudy day...
there you are...

In JOspeak:
Dat's a lotto drama fer a tyre swapper.
English:
Remind me about the bolt for next weekend. I got your six. I'll see if I can round up a rusty one so your bike stays stock. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

JO,
Have you thought about having that "Hideous" bike blessed at some
sort of ride in ceremony??
Bad luck & trouble seem to be it's only name...
Thanks for the story !! _________________ Kent
