this is so boochee...
3 of the 4 hotels we were at over the weekend didnt have fox news... and now im at a hotel for a non typical 13 consecutive nights... it f ing doesnt have f ing fox news...
it has f ing nbc... f ing cnbc... f ing msnbc... and f ing cnn...
it it wernt for lou dobbs and glenn beck i wouldnt be getting anything but boochee...
the absence of fox news at hotels is boochee... boochee im telling you...

You guys are missing the whole point of this thread. John is genuinely pissed off about this Fox News deal as I was pissed off about the size of the T.V. screen in Lolo Hot Springs. A friggin 15" screen is not a television! And the damn Olympics were on! So let's start a movement, no T.V.'s smaller than 24" and Fox News in every hotel room. What ya think, John? 
Man, this Dungeon area is way too cerebral for me.

Sarah and her husband, Todd Palin, issued a statement saying they are "proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents."
If Palin had her way, that "decision" would be taken away by the government.

I think the decision was to keep the child or put it up for adoption. Is Sarah Palin trying to outlaw adoption? 
The other decision is whether or not to marry the guy.
I doubt the girl considered ABORTION as an option given the household she was raised in.

Hitler was particularly evil - she hasn't exhibited that - yet. Just the usual crookedness you'd expect from a politician. I'm still watching and listening...
Personally, I don't think she has anywhere near the experience required of a VP. Come to think of it, Cheney didn't either - anybody seen him lately??? Laura seems to be hiding out, too.

If children learn anything in a public school Id be amazed!! They cant even teach them how to read much less teach Creationism?? the reality is they never will. You cant teach theology in a curriculum based system, as well as it is constitionally illegal.
As for Paulin being facist?? Nothing in her (thin) record shows that she will govern in a Facist way, but quite the opposite, as Facism is having more government controll..... although her views are to the right.
to whoever mentioned Hilter, Some of Barracks speaches are right out of the Hitler rhetoric book. Nazism is a term meaning National Socialism. Hitler's Nazi party was a political ideology based on hatred and a mix of Communism and Facism.

The point is we know that the Palins did not mean "decide" between having the baby or having an abortion, just like we know Obama did not intend "cling to guns and religion" to mean that he regarded disenfranchised folks as wackos.
This is a disingenuous tool that I hear both Dems and Repubs use. Take a word or phrase out of context and spin it to mean something negative KNOWING that was not the speaker's intent. The difference is, I believe the Dems use it to supplement their message. By contrast, negative spin IS the message for the Repubs. And they do it best. That was all that was presented on Wednesday night. But I suppose when that's all you've got, you've got to play your hand the best you can.
The other main difference I hear between Dems and Repubs is how each group THINKS. The Democratic philosophy is basically one of critical thinking and not being afraid to question the status quo. Unfortunately, that's what makes it hard for them to stay on message. When you've got a bunch of independent thinkers, it's hard to find consensus. And when you seek to learn and understand more about an issue and the people it affects, and have the intelligence and courage to change your view, you are given the "waffling" label.
The Republican mantra, on the other hand, is universal. Once everyone realizes that their "maverick" and his VP pick are inevitable, the questioning ends. No more critical thinking. Dissent is not tolerated.
Republicans have successfully redefined "Liberal." It used to have a positive meaning, but thirty years of negative spin have twisted it. Nonetheless, "Progressive" still means looking forward. "Conservative" still means more of the same. How can anyone expect us to believe any candidates can be conservative and "reformers" at the same time? (Rhetorical question - I'm sure FOX New will fool plenty.)

I also am amused by your assertion the Democrats are independent crticialk thinkers while conservatives don't allow dissent. McCain threw the Bush admin under the bus last night and was cheered for doing so.
