One quick stop to check my cell before getting 'lost'. Gave me this great panorama at SR28 The Hellbender!! A remote road with super fast sweepers and works its way down to some very tight bends running along the Tennessi River. I had a nice little game of chase with a K12S going till we hit the tight stuf....then his 167bhp didnt matter against my short wheelbase.....When we pulled into the store we chatted for a while and he was amazed at the speed the Old K bike generated.

Got on the road late so, and only one stop till I arrived. The Sign!! I took SR28 from Clayton GA, all the way up to Deals Gap AKA 'The Dragon'

Took a nice ride down the Dragon....a few cops kept the speed down.

The damn at the overlook.

Day two....I took the Fothils Parkway over to Gatlinburg.

The view from the Foothills Pky was amazing....Looking North at Knoxville...almost straight down!!

The traffic was for sucks from Gatlinburg across the Smoky Mountian Range to Fontana. The View was amazing from the Top of the Smoky's.

Going Baby!! I rode the Dragon 3 times just out of boredome!

Day three....Going Home...this was the great couple who stayed next to me at the Tapoco Lodge. It was (the rooms) kinda a Dump, but they had a good restraunt and cold beer. Just 3 miles from the Dragon.

Stoped at Highlands NC for lunch.

One more action shot....

Thats all folks......

Ditto, I also remember another red RS and followed up with a two-tone grey LT behind me.

OTG, I think that's probably in one of those old deleted/missing posts. I remember it being talked about. Possibly in one of the "hockey puk" threads?

I have the rear end jacked up 1.5 inches and thus had to pad the sidestand.

I used a block of aluminium, and cross drilled it, swiss cheese like to make it light.

Terry, I cant wait till we can all get together again.....

It's hard to "get together" long for those of us who can't keep up! Laughing

Hi guys!!!

I haven't stopped in a while Sad Are we still planning on something for next year? I hope I can make it on the GS. The bike is fun when its running. I needed a tow on Sunday, the battery died. The list of failures and recalls continues: front ESA strut, fuel gauge, battery, crappy cold start idle mapping. 4600 RPM = indicated 80mph in 6th gear! 120mph is all the bike has? 105hp, 85lbs torque, 6 gears, 500 lbs wet weight and its a dog past 90mph? Crappy streamlining and dumb enduro gearing one would think that they were trying to build an ENDURO bike Laughing OHHH and crappy gas mileage and range. Averages 39mpg and the low fuel light comes on at 150 miles... NICE

The expandable bags and ESA suspension is cool. The bike handles effortlessly, when its running properly. I can ride faster in the backroads on the GS, maybe even enough to hang for a few turns with ABreeze.

Given the price and age of the bike this kind of performance is downright criminal.

Sorry for your troubles. Sad

The suspension is the key improvment on the new BM's but I find the flat motor is harder to manage than a K motor. Which is why my 11S only has 4.5k on it.......

I havn't checked the meeting section lately but I think we are still looking at late July early August at Drake's cabin. Nothing finalized yet though.

Abreeze, I had an '87 RS Motorsport too! My friends still give me a hard time about it being "appliance white" but I still think the pearl white paint was beautiful. With Works fork springs, a Koni shock and radial tires it was a handling mo-chine!
