Aside from swapping in a black final drive later this month when the garage is a tad warmer, I think that I've run out of mods.
Maybe I'll swap in some stainless brake lines at next December's annual bleeding.
Here's a web page listing them all. I'm using a free hosting service so it may take a little while to load:

If you're going for the black final drive, I'd go for black wheels too.

small budget HAHAHAHA! It's a BMW! No need for a budget at all - just fix whatever breaks and keep riding... _________________ Jim

well - I guess what I really meant is - there's no need for a small budget... A small budget won't get you very far with a BMW. _________________ Jim

It takes a little longer to restore a BMW on a small budget, but with patience one thing get's fixed at a time, and the journy to completion
is well worth the wait.
As I've said in the past mine sat for six years not running and was giving to me. it took me a year just to buy the parts to get her were she is.
Running ok enough to ride to work..but nowhere ready for an out of state trip. Maybe in a year or so

What part did you use for the fog and driving light relays? Did you mount them in the electrical box under the tank with the existing relays?
Thanks! _________________ '95 K1100RS with only 47k miles |

Thanks! |
I have BAGS of relays from K-bikes I've combined/parted. I use 12-14 gauge wiriing and female blade termianls to hook them up to the smaller Bosch/BMW relays(part 61311459675.) They kind of float around in the relay box but I use heat shrink tubing and careful positioning to avoid shorts.
From my experience, even though those little relays are not rated, those little puppies can easily handle 20 amps.
For other add-on relays that don't consume that much power I looted one of the two-relay holders from a salvaged wiring harness and bolted in into the free spot in the front left part of the relay box - that keeps things a bit more organized. The issue for driving/fog lights is the wiring gauge IMO.
I've added so many electrical add-ons to that bike that the add-on wiring probably weighs more than the ABS. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
