This is a cool way to loan capital funds to those in Third World countries to start or expand a business. I tend to look for the motorcycle related businesses, such as couriers, taxis, etc.. Such as:

Talk about a "full" fairing!

Kiva is a non-profit, web based organization that pools together small amounts of money (usually $25 a lender) to make a loan to a small entrepeneur or business that might not otherwise be big enough to obtain a loan through conventional means, like a bank. There is no interest paid back, only the principle.

I know in these tough times here in the US, some might think it seems a bit odd to help those in another country, but it's amazing what a loan of a few hundred dollars can mean to a small business in the Third World. I also donate generously to our local charities as well.

As a small business owner, I feel a kinship with these folks trying to make a better life for themselves and their families. It's pretty humbling to see how little they need, and how much it can change their lives.

I've made 10 different loans over the past two years and all of them have been paid back (or are being paid back) in full. I then reloan the money over and over again.

Pretty cool, check it out.

My sister in Law is involved in that also. She has contributed for several years.

Any of our around the world friends heard of this organisation?

Sounds like something very worthwhile to help with.
