OK so after trying to replace my radiator, it has been repaired. Turned out the fan had rubbed the radiator for 120,000 miles and made a pin hole in the radiator. So the radiator repair shop said.

Now....this is a 1997 K1100LT with no radiator cap, just the overflow reservoir under the seat.

Any special proceedure to get the cooling system refilled?

Ok I know I only have a 1993 and also had a few other K bikes but isnt the fill cap on all the K75/100/1100 located under the fule tank on the front right side???

Pull the tank back and remove the cap. Add it slowly. Squeezing the hose through the crank cover gently helps.

40/60 coolant/distilled water

Leave the cap off and then run it until the thermostat opens, then top it off.

OH....sorry for my ignorance, I had a radiator in hand, with no cap. I had someone who was working for me at the time take it apart, then they quit. It was pretty easy once I got into it.

Ran it a few weeks ago without fairing to ensure no leaks, finished putting the fairing together last week, and took it to Steamboat Springs last weekend. Across Loveland Pass last night, and it is running fine again.
