After tearing apart my fairing and replacing the fairing frame ( broken frame mounts) and ready to replace the upper fairing ( broken left side mounts x2, Ive come to a thought that the mirror caused the major damage when dropped on its left side. The mirror itself did not pop off but instead broke the housing where the "keepers" were and left that portion on the bike while the mirror housing broke away. I wondor if putting handlbar mounted mirrors might be the way to go? Transmitting that much force to the upper fairing that high up really caused a lot of damage to my k11. Even the two mounts from the upper speaker plastic connection to the windshield plate was broken.
