I posted my problem previously. Here is additional information. I have a draw of 27 amps. Is that too much? The clock shouldn't take that much. Any ideas where the draw is?

27 AMPS? That's a HUGE amount of power to be draining.

Your battery wouldn't last long at that rate of withdraw. If you think you drawing amps that you shouldn't be, hook up your multimeter and start pulling fuses one at a time until you find the circuit the draw is in. At least you'll know whereto start looking.

If it's actually pulling 27 amps then the fuse would already be blown.

I think you are right. Is 27 milliamps to much? All I have going is the clock.

Confirm that your key is all the way in the lock position. Your forks should be locked in that position.

27 mAmps will cause your battery to drain in about a week. I had this problem and know use the lock position. Also use the battery tender if off the bike for several days.

What difference does the fork position make, Mark?

Scott, on the 'LT's with the ignition key in the "lock" position it turns off more acc circuits that are not turned off with the key just in the R positon.
Specifically the radio and the map light can still be turned on with the key in the R position but not in the Lock position.

He could have a fault in the radio that could be bleeding the battery down.

That is if he has the radio. My '97 did not come with one but the circuit was still there to connect to. Who knows what the P.O. could have had done.
