Hi guys,

Hope you are doing well. I am riding through the winter here and have yet to have a problem with my new (old) K75.

I did however manage to bugger one of my sidebags somehow. It looks like the plastic hinge broke. Apart from its not a plastic hinge, its just soft plastic that must have been torn away from the other side. (There's no hinge, instead its connected by soft plastic at the bottom of the bag, a pretty shitty design if you ask me).

I have the "Old style with round locks" type saddle bags.

Let me know if you've had any luck repairing these or else I'm going to have to get creative.

Hah - I was going to reply, but... Wink One of the easiest fixes ever: slide out out, slide new in, pop a beer and relax.

A hammer and chisel or large screwdriver is handy for sliding them off. Duct tape can be used for temporary repairs.

Stupid design can save a leg. My son (on his honda 400) and I (K75) filled gas at local station. When I pulled out, my right foot closest to the pump was in a coil of gas hose. In slow motion the hose pulled my right leg and I off the bike as the bike tipped right toward the pump. The gas tank on my k75 went into a black bar protecting the pump. I was bummed that my tank took a hit - it doesn't leak.

My leg ripped off the outside of the sidebag allowing my leg to escape the situation. Could have been worse. The wimpy hinge, which was already well worn ripped apart so my leg was spared.

There was a video camera at the pump, but the video wasn't running. I thought the insurance company might like to see it, plus if would have been a good youtube video.

The hinge is actually pretty tough except when you try to drive a leg thru it. Very Happy When you order them, just get a couple of extra, just in case. Not too much dough, PTM. (Pennies to Maintain). Laughing
