My K freak friend try to convert k1100RS (1995) camshaft to K100RS 4V.
He thinks this works can increase middle range torque of k1100RS which little dull and weak.
Any one has expaerience convert K1100 cmshaft to K100 4V ? |

You properly loose the top end,but gain between 4k and 7k.I did a convertion
by installing k1 cams(same as k100 4v and k1200rs/gt eu model) in a k11lt.The ecu is the samme MA2,1, the only difference is the vacum hose to the fuel
pressure regulator that are installed on the k100/k1.Try to run it with and without the hose connected and see what works best. Also the velocity stacks
in the aircleaner box is a little differrent, but dont wory about that.

I think the cams are the same between the K1004V and the K1100. Where there is a difference is with the cams from a K1 or a K1200RS. I put K12RS cams in my 1100 and notice a little improvement in the mid range but a stronger pull after 6500 rpm. I am contemplating putting the K11 cams back in since I don't get to 6500 all that often.

From the BMW parts catalog:
The K1, K100RS4V and the K1200RS(both early and late versions) all have the same intake cam: 11311461691
For the exhaust cams:
The non-cat K1, K100RS4V (I thought they were all non-cat, at least in the US) use the same exhaust cam as the K1200RS: 11311461693
The cat version of the K1, K100RS4V uses exhaust cam 11311464473
The K1100RS and LT use intake cam 11311464510
The K1100RS and LT use exhaust cam 11311464512 _________________ 93 LT (x2)

The ecu is the same partnumber on k1004v/k1 and the k1100lt/rs up to
1993(non cat).The fuel pressure regulator is different,the k1004v/k1 has
a vacum hose connecting intake and regulator. You can disable it by
removing the hose and put a cap on the intake connection.

I have run the stock K11 ECU. I tried a couple of aftermarket "chips" for the ECU and have gone back to the stock setup- it works great and the others are a waste of $ in my opinion.

Thank you jarnbak,
I told this to my friend
Hi duckbubbles,
I knew some performance chip for K's ECU. But my friend's K1100RS is ABS-2 model. I think there are no chip fit for late model such as after ABS-2 model. |
