Just fitted same, Initially some funny grinding noises which I put down to the sprues catching the mudguard. After 60 or so miles, sprues almost gone. Still the noise occasionally, seems there is a greater rolling diameter in a radial than a BT45. Either that or there's more tread.
Is it just my bike? _________________ Regards Tim,

Look up under the rear half of the guard and check your clearance for the brake lines, make sure that they aren't rubbing, or the screw that holds the middle cover plate. _________________ Ride safe.

Thanks Scott, It really is the rear edge of the mudguard that catches. More like a hugger at the moment. _________________ Regards Tim,

Sloan, I ran a pr2 on one of my LT's last year. Standard size 110/80zr-18. I'd be still using it today cept for a piece of porcelin penetrated and gave me a flat.
The PR-2's are not available in the stock size for the 17" rear, only the 18" front for the LT. _________________ Ride safe.

I also run a PR2 on the front (Avon Azaro on the rear) on my K11LT. I dunno how it handles rain, but on dry pavement, I'm pretty happy with it. Longevity is decent and grip is good. _________________ M N B

Keep me posted, so to speak. After reading this & other fora, I too went for PR2 front, Avon Azaro rear, because of the size problem. Initial observations, seems better planted than BT45's, not let go yet, even scrubbing in on soggy English roads. I fancied I got a weave @ 110 MPH, but it could have been a side wind.
Longevity could be the reason why it clips the mudguard (fender), deeper tread than a Bridgestone. _________________ Regards Tim,

I already bought another set that will be going on soon. IMO, these are the best tires I've ever had on the K11LT. The Azaro is supposedly discontinued, but they've been saying that for over a year or two and I can still buy them. I'm not sure what other rear radial option there is for the K11LT if the Azaro goes away... _________________ M N B

A RS/RT wheel? I've put one in storage. I think I'm PR2s all the way round next tire change. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I really don't want to have to change gearing and everything that would go into making such a change. Yeah, I could NOT do most of that, but it would change how the bike responds and I don't want to do that. _________________ M N B

WTF? You just bolt on an RS rear wheel. The difference in circumference is about 1%. You won't even notice it on your speedo.
Even Johnny could do it - maybe. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Since we're talking about bolting on different wheels I have a question. From the information I can find it says that I can put a 120 tire on my front LT rim. Does anyone have any info on if this is correct?

The overall wheel/tire diameter difference is only .25" (less than I thought it would be given the 1" difference in wheel size).
I would probably notice the difference, although it is small. I have a tendency to notice things most people miss. I could probably live with it, though. Thanks for the info. When the Azaro fades into history, if I can't find a suitable replacement, I might swap out the rear wheel... assuming I can find one...
The tire width difference is nearly an inch. Does that cause any clearance issues? _________________ M N B

You have to drop the exhaust system to change the tire, if you have a stock system. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

The height difference is only an eight of an inch. The diameters/circumferences of the tires are similar because the aspect ratio of the two tires is different.

No. Same setup as on an RS.
MR is right about having to drop the whole exhaust to get the wheel off though. I have Staintunes on my bikes so that's not a big deal as the can comes off with two bolts. At least on the LT you don't have to drop the bellypan like the RS to drop the exhaust. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

So "drop the entire exhaust" means undoing the header bolts also? _________________ 2012 R1200RT Midnight Blue

Can't speak for LT's but on the RS I find it easier to remove the rear mudguard section (fender) than touch the exhaust to remove the rear wheel. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

I have not dropped the exhaust for rear tire removal.
Take off the back portion of the fender.
Remove brake caliper. Take off the wheel lugs. Twist the wheel so bottom kicks left a bit.
It's tight, but it will come out the back this way.
I don't like having to align all the exhaust points back up. Enough regual wear & tear on that thin wall stainless as it is.
Couse, for the crowd with the after market systems, just removing th ecanister is less to do. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

And if it doesn't, a little percussive maintenance should convince the SOB to cooperate! _________________ M N B
