Sorry didn't say much, I got distracted with uploading a picture....
I'm 46 years old, 3 son's & 4 Grandchildren.(One who was born on Sunday.)I've been on the road for 29 years, had 2 boxers & 2 Ks.
I've had a huge amount of bikes ranging from a Motobecane "suitcase" moped (Still got) right upto a GL1500 (Which I never really bonded with.)
Currently got about 10 complete bikes with about 3 fully on the road & being constantly ridden.
As you may just make out on the picture I have a extra pair of children footpegs on the K ,but they also come in handy if I visit my wifes ancestors in Ireland!
Well that should do you for now. _________________ "A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing." |

Hi "Laverda".....(( name ?? )
WELCOME on board !! Hope to see more of you and 'ride pics' as well. Dont forget to order your official K11OG "T" shirts and a great reflective stickers here on the forum !! By the way with 10 bikes,... do you happen to do our own wrenching on the "K" bikes ?? Inquisitive minds need to know,, that way we can all pick your brain on-line !
Once again Welcome and best regards there in "sunny" Scotland !

Another closet Laverda freak, Always liked the Mirage and you can still get them fairly cheap, as opposed to anything that says "Jota" on it, even though they are pretty much the same!
Nice sunny day I see there _________________ K1100RS '97

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I'm not a true Scot, I moved up from England with my wife & 3 boys (All English born.) but all my 4 grandchildren are Scottish born.
I hope I can be of assistance but as mentioned I've only had 2 Ks, the first was a K75s which ran almost faultlessly in 68,000miles !!
All I changed were the clocks.(I punched them a little too hard when they had cut out yet again on a fast/busy motorway.)Usual service & consumable items & I put a new clutch plate in it before I traded it in on a Goldwing.(That was a mistake !)
Up to now (Touch wood.) the 1100 hasn't given any problems, now due a servise & could do with a new seat cover, may go black, more practical IMO.
I trained as a motorcycle mechanic in the early 80s so I'm a little more "Old Skool" tbh.
I will look into the T-Shirts, I just hope they go up to my size! (My son always refers to me as "Big as a door".)Though when I was touring the US a few years back some of the clothes sizes astounded me. _________________ "A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing." |
