Thanks for the replys, looks like a number of different options that I need to consider. I would like to hear more about plugging the areas at or near the radio and glove box, and redirecting the fan air out the vents. Thanx BB

During a rant about how much I hate the heat, my mechanic suggested the Baker Wings. I have not tried them, yet.

I will try and get out to the garage today and pull off one of the knee pads to take a picture. You really need to take the tank off to do it right and get to all the spaces but I will explain that better when I get the pics.

Guys,

I have Baker Wings..... but they mount right where my legs go when I use my highway pegs. Sad

Highway pegs work for me but understand that nothing works if you are stuck in traffic. I rode to Salt Lake City and found the pegs do the trick.
If anyone wants to buy my Baker Wings, let me know. You cannot use Baker WIngs + Pegs at the same time; pegs help me cool and stretch. Wink

Well I pulled off the knee pads but I forgot that I had put the foam further under than what I can see by just pulling off the knee pads.

When I put on the foam I had the knee pads off and the tank off. I also unscrewed the radio compartment and removed the glove box. Under those is a plastic heat deflector that does nothing. I removed the heat deflectors and then started cutting and putting foam into any space between the radiator and the engine and the tank where the heat coming off the radiator could get back to me. I fitted it close to the side fairings so that it sealed the space and directed it out the vents. Some areas I was just able to wedge it in tight. Other areas I had to wrap it around the frame and in some places I cable tied it in.

If you get that far into it you will be able to see what I mean and where to put the foam.

I hope this helps.

This is what I've come up with to keep me cool , tried all the recommended fixes [ 3 core thermo switch ect ] keeps the motor cool but not me, this may be a bit radical but if you can pick up a secondhand lt bare top fairing, take a saw to it and problem solved. I only swap from a larger screen in winter to the origanal which has been trimmed down for summer, this gives me total comfort in any weather . My first cut was a little to much off and I re attached the sides to make them slightly longer as per photos DO NOT cut as in the shot with the small screen this allows a nice flow of fresh air onto lower torso keeping it cool but still getting the benifit of a fairing. Works for me in AUS weather you may need the full fairing back on in winter.PS photo are spread out as is text seems to be the way it works every time i post photos. Cheers AUSBRICK [img][/img]

Thanks, I did some mods with the closed cell foam under and around glove boxes, knee pads etc. to get the hot air out the vents. I think its doing a good job of redirecting the air but havent had hot enough weather to see if it helps yet. Keep you posted

Put some Baker Air Wings on it and took it out for a spin. WOW...what a difference. I highly recommend them! I noticed that they probably pull more heat up to your legs when closed, but should be nice in the winter. Very Happy
