Confused

Hey all....

OK... if Shogs can do it so can I ! Hell, I've been pissing on my foot for so long cant remember when I didnt and my past posts in this thread are just another example... so here goes !

Hey "Hoof".. WELCOME on board. Sure would like to see your bike and share some of the wacko experiences we're all used to sharing. The K11 forum has great people in it and lots of applicable knowledge. I hope you wont judge them by my intolerant first reaction !

Very best regards...........// Ernie in NH

Could I expect more 6th-grade level trickery like you linking to a 13 year old *archived* page of music with broken links? Is that what we praise and adore in our society now? I mean, anyone who wasn't looking at your misdirection could have just clicked on the "website" button on the bottom of any of my posts. They could have seen AND heard that I spoke the truth. Instead you showed them to a defunct, archived website designed in 1996/1997. I'll bet I could randomly pick any corporate website and we'll find lots of pages with broken links, especially if we can find some that are 13 years old.

Where I come from, low blows like that are considered to be very unsportsmanlike. I said "sport", not poor sportsmanship.

I also find it difficult to see why posting factual information about myself has got so many of you in "Lord of the Flies" mode. And yes, I was here *before* you edited your post, and agreeing with "OffTheGrid" (who apparently had his post removed), who insulted me, and as near as I can tell, I hadn't insulted anyone. In *fact*, I did not insult anyone, unless *facts* insult you. I never even said I was better than anyone. I just stated facts.

Real mature behavior.

BTW, here are the names of some other people who wouldn't care whether you think they should "tone it down", especially when coming from such nice people:

Chuck Norris, Lindsey Vonn, Michael Bode, Michael Phelps, Gordon Sumner, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Louis Pasteur, Capt. Sully...

I could list pages and pages of people who could be on this list, and I'll wager you could, too. I think maybe you get the idea. I asked no one to change who or what they are.

Now honestly tell, me: if any of these people had come in here, would there have been such a party?

Of course not.

Why?

Because you all know their names (or SHOULD).

I feel like Septum in Stalag 17. Dogpile on the rabbit. Let's show how full of sh*t this guy is...but wait, if you actually checked, you would have found out that maybe, just maybe, he ain't full of sh*t at all.

*sigh*

Maybe if I just said that I, also, was just a human being. A person with feelings. Maybe those things are not important anymore. It's obvious for me that the art that I so gave every part of myself to for so long is about as popular as I am, so I am a complete failure. Maybe only people who have overcome all of these hurdles are worthy of respect. The ones who have failed only deserve derision, and to be the butt of jokes. How many people think that this is the way we should treat each other?

Have you never been proud of something that you worked very hard to achieve, only to have people turn their heads away, laugh at you, or be deceptive in trying to make you look bad?

I tried to be amusing, maybe someone got a chuckle or two. Maybe even someone listened to my music and now can see where I am coming from.

Thank you to all of those who welcomed me without judging me, or trying to make me look like a fool.

I guess that last part wasn't especially difficult.

BTW, the person who said something to effect of "it's all about ME..."...pardon me, but unless you're a complete moron, when someone asks you to post something about yourself, you post things about *yourself*. However, I'll keep your idea in mind next time someone asks me to post something about myself. I'll post something about YOU instead. Fair dinkum?

Dude, nobody cares. It was just some advice.

When you are a guest in someones home, do you march in, throw your shoes off, grab a meal+beer out of the fridge and kick your feet up proclaiming how great you are?

No, you act with a little tact and class. Get to know people. Better yet, let the people get to know you a little bit. Its just basic respect.

What you chose to do is your call. Internet etiquette is just that, etiquette. It's not for everyone, and no it doesn't need to be followed. But you will generally get a better reception with a softer approach.

+ one

I apologize for contributing to the downward turn of the thread where I dared him.
None the less the offer still stands as I sincere about the bet.

And after getting to know him a little better through his own words, I did welcome him with all honestly in my reply to OTG.

I think his introduction set a few peoples teeth on edge, mine included.

I see this forum as a laid-back, blue jeans wearin‘, working class, old K-bike lovin’ group, sitting around garage staring at a half tore apart K1100 while seepin’ cheap beer and smokin’ stoggies,

Bill, I’ll give you this.
You came in here using you own name, and despite your over the top, look at me post, you posted without shame about the good and bad aspects about your past and personality.

Look, if I do the math based on you post about seeing the Bone Yard in 1973/72 and guessing you ran away from home around the ages 15 to 17, that would put you between 52 and 55 year old.

Bill, just relax. M’kay.

Breathe, ride, and wrench all will be well with the world.

Cool Yeah, we did what he asked and it was good sport, but he was not a good sport about it Rolling Eyes

There was no misdirection, I just googled the name you freely posted here. Your stuff is still out there, unless none of what I posted was you at any point in time.

Truth? I never called you a liar.

If any of these people had come in here, I would have asked them for a pic of their bike like we asked asked you.

FYI, Albert Einstein, "In the recollections of the family recorded by Einstein’s younger sister, Maja, in 1924, Albert appears as a calm, dreamy, slow, but self-assured and determined child. Another three decades later, Einstein himself told his biographer, Carl Seelig, that “my parents were worried because I started to talk comparatively late, and they consulted a doctor because of it.”

He was said to be soft spoken, warm and patient and not the least bit pompous or pretentious.

So I think he would have fit right in, no worries.
ESPECIALLY if he posted a pic of him on a bike

Something like this.

Plus, he didn't take himself too seriously.

Bill, do you have a K1100?

Do you ride it?

Since you like photography, I would guess you have some great pictures of your bike and places you've been.

That's all we really care about here.

Edit: and the fence is cool looking.

Come on Jim Rolling Eyes He came in here waving his HUGE e-penis around and he acted like a troll.

I can only speak for myself, and I posted as much, but he set a few people on edge, myself being one.

He was asked several time if he would post a pic of his bike and he never bothered and his only response was a snide comment.

Jim, the point being, not every human being that rides a motorcycle is mentally stable, friendly, nice, or worthy of sharing the road with.

In the contents of a forum, not everyone that joins is a good fit for a given group.
Better yet, it’s the group that gets decides, both individually and as a whole.

But in the back of my mind, I feel sorry for him.
