I wouldn't have - unless I knew that little stretch of road better than the back of my hand and knew the deepest point wasn't up to the bottom of the oil pan.
I'm going to say he did...

That looks like oil pan would be well submerged and the water could be over the air intake

The guard rails definitely threw me!
Being a complete wimp I had turned the bike around, when I saw a bicyclist approaching. He went right through it, down the center with the water just an inch over his rim, smirking as he passed me. Easy on the throttle I made it right through. I didn't get soaked until the second run!

Having had to cross a lot of water like that in the Northern Territory years ago to get somewhere I needed to be, I became quite adept at walking through the water to determine the best way through. Although it is probable the temperature of the water I walked in (tropical or just sub-tropical areas) was much more comfortable than what I see in the pic.
Taking off the fanbelt in a car was often required!

Not if you semi-gun-it say at about 35-45 mph standing on the pegs. The bow-wake would keep the water out of the air intake.
I would have ridden across it :shrug

With the kind of rain we have, we get small floods here all the time, so I'm quite familiar with riding thru areas like this, in short, I don't! I did once on a previous bike and yeah, it was an expensive lesson on the benefits of finding an alternate route
