Oil's coming out of (I think) the main seal between the engine and tranny. Replacing THAT is not something I'd care to take on just now. Anybody ever try or hear of someone using this stuff?

If there is a leakage it would leak out of the tell-tale hole in the intermediate flange. From your description it almost sound as if you see oil along a seam? Picture or more info would help.
I personally would never use the kind of sealer that you refer to, you never know what it does with your lub oil channels (your camshaft drive chain tensioner etc). _________________ Cheers, Rene

A bit more info...
The oil leakage seems to have diminished. It apparently wasn't a great deal - just enough to coat the left side of the engine and tranny with a fine coat of oil. And some on my boot - which had never happened before, and therefore raised concern. This all happened on an 85 mph, 350 mile ride with temps around 90° F. I had just topped off the crankcase, and may have overfilled it a bit.
I does not appear to have leaked noticably since. Granted, the temps have been cooler (80's) and I've made sure to fill oil leaving some air visible in the sight glass.
Is it possible that, if overfilled, the excess oil found its way out through someplace other than a gasket? Seems like the crankcase breather is in the air box, correct? _________________ tlp
