Hi Again

I have some marks and scratches on my windscreen and was wondering what is the best way to sand/polish it ?

What polishing compound do do recommend?

Bobby,
Warning:
If it is the stock windscreen you have to be careful of the "film" covering. Mine started to come off in spots leaving bad spots. I stopped polishing and eventually got a CeeBailey from RAL88.
Perhaps someone else will have better advice.
Good luck
Mike

Well, you can either be careful of the film, or you can use compound and remove it. Which is what I did. Ultimately, I ended up buying a new windscreen - but not stock.

Thisquestion arose on other forum I was following. This URL was referenced: http://www.bmwons.ca/K100/download/Removing-Scratches-on-windshield.pdf

Funny, many of the same topics resurface at the same time on multiple unrelated forums. Very strange how that timing works.

Thanks, Robert - I could have used that on the old screen... The new one doesn't need it - yet.

Thank you Robert

I'm just about done with the sanding bit. I have some Novus fine polish to complete the job.

BTW 3m make a headlite kit http://www.shop3m.com/60455046502.html?cshift_ck=null&client_id=5093

will do the trick also... most of todays auto head lites are LEXAN or polycarbonite. our wind screen are the same stuff...
