Hi Folks,

I hesitated to post on this because it doesn't affect the running of the bike at all, but I have some extra noise in the engine when under load from a start to about 3k RPM - hot or cold, doesn't matter. It is really only noticeable when in first gear from a dead stop up to about 3k RPM. It is hard to describe and there is no noticeable "feel" difference aside from maybe a slight addition to the normal engine "buzz" vibration (which, as anyone who owns a K75 will tell you, is pretty minimal.) Best I can describe it would be added resonance in the sound for the runup to 3k at which point it completely stops.

I checked the heat shield and exhaust header bolts, all fine. I seem to recall reading about some spring or somesuch in the driveline that gets stuck over time - might that be it? If I remember correctly, my old K75 did this as well but I have ridden several K75s that do not do it and my K11 never did it.

It really isn't anything more than a bit annoying, and it bothers me that something might be wrong.

Any ideas? I might try and record the sound on my Blackberry.

I had a similar problem on my '97 LT. It was #15 on this diagram of your bike.

Might be worth check both sides.
