Congrats.

My RS just hit 50k and I'm not too happy about it. I just dropped almost three bills getting the Ohlins rebuilt and now I plan to give it a complete head to toe Level II including a spline lube and installing a new clutch plate. It doesn't actually need a clutch plate but I figure since I'll have it open and have one laying around I might as well. I'll install a new clutch nut O-ring too. I figure that'll keep the bike worry-free for quite a while - but it's a fair amount of work.

well, i dropped over 5 bills on the bike when originally it was in just for new front brake pads and tires. then turns out that the front brake lines (all 3) were bad. go figure, a bike that is 17 years old has bad rubber brake lines. and of course the mech ordered just the bmw stuff from the local dealer. if he had called i would have asked around for advice on steel braided cables. but oh well, they are fixed and work like never before.

people always ask "isn't that a lot for a motorcycle?" and all i know to answer is "maybe if isn't a k bike". i mean, what are you supposed to say when the bike is nearly certain for at least 200k?

here's to at least another 50k.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about age, but then I look at who started the thread. Very Happy
