Mr Murphy has reared has ugly head. I am in the process of readying my bike to receive new speakers, that should arrive today.
Now that I am ready I found out that the receiver is not working.
When I turn it on the number 126 appears. this condition stays the same no matter what I try.
Does this mean the receiver took the big one?
Any ideas?
Thanx, Rag. _________________ "When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty."

Maybe not. You have to clear the display and enter the code. Press and hold the band switch to clear the display, then enter the four digit code. _________________ Jim

Thank you so much! I was ready to trash the radio. Your suggestion worked perfectly.
Really great to have this site and the guys on it.
Today I received a pair of Polk DB401 speakers. They have a 4 hole mount and I can mount them with the clips included. I noticed that when mounted there is about a 1/8" space between the speaker and the speaker grill molded in the dash.
Do you think this space will interfere much with the speaker performance?
If so, I guess I could ground down the plastic screw mounts.
What do you advise.
Thanks again,

Well, I'm not sure I'd grind the plastic down - if it's part of the fairing. Unless there is plenty of plastic there for the screws to grip.
I can email you a scan of the radio manual if you don't have one. _________________ Jim

Good advice. I just mounted the speakers & the 1/8" gap has no noticeable effect on speaker quality.
I had to grind a little off the fairing to allow a good fit. The only place it hits is against the antenne mounting, but I think I can find a solution.
The speakers sound great and I'll finish it tonite.
I have a radio manual, but thank you anyway.
Thanks again for all the help.
