|
|
I would like to be able to run bias ply tires on my K1100RS like the Dunlop D404 simply because I don't ride fast or aggressive, just enjoyable backroad touring speeds. However, it seems that any company that manufactures tires fits radials for the bike. Does anyone know of a bias tire that will fit a 93 K1100RS? |

Daddy, I just don't understand why you would want to run bias ply tires...
Radials are just so much better...and safer...
Could you explain? Thanks! _________________ Bob T.

| I am looking for a high mileage tire. I suppose I could go with the dual compound though. I guage my tires 2-3 times per week and ride ultra conservative. In fact, I have an 04 R1150GS and with my last set of Metzler Tourance tire I got 19,880 out of the rear and 23,414 out of the front and although they were worn they were by no means slick.. I just really like the Dunlop D404's. Thanks |

I don't get it either. Radials handle better at low speeds too. You could run ME 880s but they cost more than something like Michelins and aren't as good of a tire. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/roadrider 120/70/17 but you would need a 150/70/18, which is still ok on a 4.5 rim.
dont do it though, get some bridgestone bt23`s dunlop roadsmarts or miche3lin pilot 3`s, all will give touring type milage and excellent wet grip.

I've got a LT front rim, with ME 330 at...50% tread, and a LT rear rim with ME 880 at 90% tread. I swapped the rear out already for the wider RS rim. Would like to do the same for the front... if your interested in some sort of trade/sale. (LT rims/tires on your RS, RS rims/tires on my LT).
If your seeking long distance/touring wear potential...vs me with the idea of turning an LT into a RS!...kinda funny. _________________ 1997 K1100LT-SE
