Hmmmmm so I took the laverda over to the laverda expert today and we did all the maintenance stuff but we couldn't fix the backfiring/spluttering. Seems to be a carburettor issue. BUT I got a lift home and its 50 KS away and I left the BMW keys there. But I want to ride over early tomorrow.. the spare key I had cut doesn't work, doesn't turn so can I hotwire it some how? If you don't want to publish it send a pm , _________________ K1100RS '97

Pound a screwdriver into the key slot and put some big Vise-Grips on the handle. Then turn really hard.
I'll send you a PM. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

If you have the electric diagram, it is easy to hotwire, you need 2 wires. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

From the electric diagram, you should hotwire Gray/Blue and Gray, then Green and Red (you may have to add a mass to that but not sure it is necessary). Did it once on a K75 because the contactor was broken, on the K11 I think the contactor is less easy to reach.
Hope you didn't lock the fork... _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

Loosen the small hex screw that holds the ign. switch and pull the switch part of the lock. Then turn to on position. The hex screw normaly has some red paint on.It is the same way you replace the ign.switch.
