The discerning K bike enthusiast will notice that it now has K1100RS peg plates. This covers up the tranny mounting bolts and also gets rid of the kludgy L bracket and rubber cushion for the rear of the modulators since the K1100RS peg plate bracket has rear mounting spots for the modulators.

The wheels from the threshing machine in the first picture would go really well with the pegs

The peg plates need to be powder coated - they don't look right... _________________ Jim

Always love the ride and food pics, FD. Keep 'em coming.
On a similar note, I just rode in from the Texas BMW Rally held at Llano, Tx. I'll start a thread with gallery pics the next day or two. _________________

Is this the lil black bitch who is smoking a little...
And you put the non snake oil in her to boost compression?
If so how is the compression and motor in general, holdin out?
all the best and enjoy your break |

Well, the smoking is because it's got the early rings and not related to compression. To keep down on the smoking I learned a little trick: after shutting it down I just lean it to right for a few seconds and that lets the oil behind the pistons drain back into the sump.
The compression really isn't that bad so I haven't done the Restore treatment yet.
I don't know the history of that motor but it runs quite well. I've got the idle set down at about 800 RPM and, surprisingly, it seems quite happy with that.
I was passing some cars behind an R1100 the other day and I was almost able to keep up. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
