Karlos, I understand the red ones are the fastest of bunch, so I am sure the Parabellum helps keep the wind blast down. I have one on my slightly slower black and silver SE and it really does the trick - hence my question on how it worked for you. I am 6'2" and only get a bit of wind rush noise on the top of the helmet - but also dependent up on which helmet I wear.

I did not notice the bar backs, but I installed a set of helibars and that made all the difference in the world in taking the weight off my wrists.

One thing, I actually took off my Corbin and went back to the stock seat because it was not as comfortable. The dish for my buns the Corbin had was low enough to scrunch my legs and not allow forward -aft movement. See if you can find something to test sit before dropping the $$$. Of course, if you want an in-need- of-recovering-Corbin to play with, let me know.

thanks for the heads up geno,i do like the forward and aft movement of the stock seat alright and @ 5' 10" it(wind screen i have) still gets me some noise on my "symax 2" as i ride with it up or open slightly but the screen is a "look over" for me and i really like this, and if i want to i can tuk down and i seem to go into this still zone,,yes the red ones(i had a caption on one of my pics but it didn't go on to it)are the fastest(i did call it "big red north")as my hard bags are also red and the top box is black (pics coming) AND with the burnished gold fd and wheels it has 3 more hp Laughing ,,,has anyone out there installed the "chip" that increases hp,,,we have an english mechanic in Duncan here on Vancouver Island that has supposedly built 6 of the top 10 beemer's in the racing world and he said you had to "map" your chip as to fuel etc, any info would be interesting,,,on a scary note when i first got the bike to see how she went i was on a straight stretch and bingo 200km in a heartbeat without hitting the end of the throttle so maybe the chip is redundent "eh" DJ

Most of those guys on Fleabay have no clue what they're up to. The chip they're selling is probably a clone of the one for the K100RS4V ones. That won't work in a K1100 because K1100s have a completely different Motronic.
K100RS4Vs don't have a catalytic converter like K1100s do. (At least in North America)

Just my opinion here... but as expensive as a replacement ECU is, I would not not go messing with that piece of hardware.

I tried three different aftermarket chips in my K100RS4V. One for a Staintune and whatever those other two types are. All worked fine - but I KNEW they were the right one for that bike. Those guys selling stuff on Fleabay don't have a clue I don't think.

thanks for the heads up Duck,, it's not like a guy (or girl) would need the xtra hp anyway, and like Geno said it'd be bad to mess up this piece,,,btw in B.C. the RCMP (cops) are giving out tickets like there is a 1,000 doughnut prize each month,,they are hiding behind every tree and blind corner and usually where it goes from say 80 kmh to 50 kmh and they keep putting the fines up,,there was a guy out east going 90 km over the limit and got a $2400 fine not that i suggest this kind of speed,,,ps if over 40 km over the limit they take the bike for a 7 day minimum,,,note to self, don't speed,,,they have turned the cops into tax collectors DJ,,, thanks again Duck

I know they're pretty brutal up there.

RCMP = Revenue Collection Motorized Patrol

But you've probably heard that one already.

Regarding the windscreen, David, did you ever consider installing Aeroflow's? What made you choose Parabellum?

For me, I ended up with the 'bellum because I found a used one that was color matched to my bike. I jumped on it and never even considered the other brand.

David, I think it was geno_rocket who originally asked you about the Parabellum. Thank you for you answer.

Parabellum. Humm... I personally prefer the looks of Aeroflow, but I'll search the internet to see what I can find about your screen. There are several people mentioning and installing it, so it also must have its qualities. Thanks!

IMO, they all look hideous. Why mess with perfection?

I don't think they're a masterpiece either.

But let me ask you this: when you put extra lights and change the seat, aren't you messing with "perfection"?

The stock "square" seats are awful. Perfection is not an issue.

As for aux lighting, I really don't like the looks of it and would prefer not to have to add it but it's a case of function over form and is nowhere near as hideous as aftermarket windscreens.

Seats:

Stock: Suck.

Corbin: OK (for a one-size-fits-all seat they're decent)

Russell Day Long: Comfortable but fugly. These are custom made. I went through a few used ones and until I found one with the rider position far enough back for me.

Sargeant: These seem to come in all sorts of styles. I've ridden on a few of them and they seemed pretty comfy.

Rick Mayer: I have one that I got off of Fleabay and it's comfy but a little too far forward for me. I'm having him do an LT custom one for me right now. I'll write a review when it shows up later this week or early next week. A riding buddy has them on both of his K1100RSs and swears by them - he had front and back done - I'm just getting the rider portion done since I ride solo. He lowered his price to $319 for a solo this year.

Rich's Custom Seats(in Kingston, WA): Hit or miss. He's got lots of fans but he also has lots of people not happy with him. In my case I wasted two whole days and many hundreds of dollars to get a seat that's even worse than a stock K bike seat - seriously. You can probably guess what camp I'm in.
