OK my clutch started slipping last week. (I have put 1400 miles on the bike since I bought it in may and got it running) 48,500 miles on bike. Does the engine come out the front/bottom of the bike, perhaps similar to removing an engine from a VW bug old school? I have not yet opened the manual and I am curious what my weeknights will entail this week.

Opposite direction.
Rear drive and trans go backwards off the engine & bell housing.
First time- figure two days +/- to remove, repair then reassemble. _________________ John & Cathy

Thanks. That should be fairly straightforward. (OK straight backward!)

Lots of items in your way.
Abs II can be loosened and cabled tied out of the way.
use a trolley jack and a wooden board to finally remove complete transmission drive assembly.
The stupid plate between hangers.... angle grind it to aid removal and refitting.
Most likelt its the "O" ring that failed not the seal.
I did my last one December, -3 deg celcius. with piglet warming lamps to keep me warm.
I think I posted about this already. Good luck! _________________ Luck is when planning and opportunity meet |
