But not on my K.....

A fun new addition to the garage...it feels like a moped compared to the K, but it's a blast to ride!

Congrats, Steve.
I must admit, I like the color scheme!
VStroms are a hoot to ride.

I took my '97 out today for a shakedown ride. I've got all the front plastic off to change the steering head bearings and fork seals. No headlamp, fairing, bags, nothing but the bare bike.
I did a full TB sync, tied up all the stray wires, and took it out on the street.
It felt like a totally different bike, light and nimble, zippy. Didn't feel like an LT at all.

I like the looks of that new ride there Steve. Good for you.

Don't pull a Gwen.
Virginia HP found me in 6th gear on I-81 at 87-ish this week...$124, but ONLY because he said I was so nice about the stop he didn't charge me with reckless for almost 20 over.

I'm not sure if Suzuki learned anything from the first models of Vstroms, but you'll want to remove the swingarm shaft and lube or treat the external and internal surfaces for corrosion prevention. I didn't do mine until the 15k mile mark and had to replace it. It looked like it had been struck by lightning, it had 2 pinholes all the way through it and the rest of it was pitted pretty severely. My original was dry as a bone when I removed it. I chose to treat the new one with Corrosion X internally and a good synthetic grease on the external surfaces. The bike is extremely fun, and is without a doubt the best all around bike ever built.
