I just noticed that the membership has grown to more then 1,900. There's one thing to definitely be said about the K11 line.....they are very, VERY recyclable.... Beemered

So many of the other old bike sites sit so dormant, sometimes going for months with out anyone posting....that doesn't seem to be the case at good ole K11OG. I remember when Ted first approached a number of us who were new to the K11 bike and wanted to know if anyone wanted to see an owners web site. I suspect he had no clue it would end going this long. Good for you Ted, even though I'm not often here, it still warms the heart that I used to be a regular here and that it's still surviving.... Wink

Allen,

Must be something to a K bike. Had one just about how I wanted it. Then sold it (stupid) so I could buy a C-14 Concours (STUPID!).

Sold that and now I am back on a brick.

Good to see you post here. How's the GT?

John

Hey John...sounds like your happy and that's what counts more then anything else. I can sympathize with the sting you felt on the money lost on the Connie....I've done that more then once in my life....its a live and learn moment.....Confused

I'm in the process of doing a few things to the GT before I officially take it off the dealers lot. Been chatting with Zero Gravity, who want me to leave the bike with them for a while to design a new double bubble set up. The wheels are out being polished and changing out the BS to PR3's tires and a few other things.....all negotiated with the sale....I'm getting better at that in my old age. BTW.....Triumph has had difficulties selling the GT (I've noted there seems to be drop in sales of Sport Tourers and Triumph is not immune...everyone seems to be going to "adventure" bikes) and as a result you can buy a 2011 GT for around 10 to 12 thousand right now, new in a crate, not demo'd..... Exclamation When time permits I'll post some pictures.

I can tell you though, from the test ride I did a few months back, the GT is very sweet and has just enough changes to give it the right amount of touring capabilities and still hold on to the sporty side.

Had a few overall issues with the ST that Triumph has addressed....specifically the tunnel/projector lamps really left me hanging on dark nights in tight twisties....the other issues were related to bare metal and or poor coatings....the ST was literally turning into a rusty disappointment....again Triumph (like the new reflector headlamps) addressed other owner complaints by painting the whole drive train...there are number of other improvements. As a result if all goes well and I'm able to, this will be a long riding bike for me.....that triple engine is very seductive. I've found that taking care of the chain has helped be become a little more at one with the bike and am much more focused on ensuring it's maintenance...I like that and love the bike.
