Well today i took the forks apart to have the stantions rechromed and replace the seals,i did look for info before starting but couldnt find anything comprehensive so i have taken some good photos and plan on doing a write up for anyone else.I must say they were very easy on the LT only needing a basic socket set and a couple of hours taking it easy to strip.I thought it would be helpful for someone doing this job for the first time, Does anyone know if theres already a good write up available and how i would go about uploading Thanks

I can't answer your question,,,
When I bought my K it had a leaking fork seal.
The local dealer replaced it 2X..still leaked. They wanted to sell me a new set of tubes.($950.) or a new bike. to "Fix all my problems."

Took it to Ted Porter @ Beemershop.com.
He put the offending tube on a lathe and wet sanded it.
60K later no problems.

BTW be sure to add gaiters. You can get inexpensive units made for 4 x 4s. (Or pay the $50, like I foolishly did and get units made for a GS)

PPS. Installed Progressive springs + Wilbers at the rear..felt new.
