I have a quesiton, but first, some background.
I picked up this K100 with 30k miles on it in Feb 2010. Steering bearings were toast, as were the front brakes, and a month in Shog's Shop fixed that issue. Rode around fine that summer, then the oil/water pump started leaking, so I rebuilt that.
Fast forward to the next summer, when the clutch goes out. Back to Shog's Shop, we tear out the whole ass end, replace clutch, ride home. Then something happened, where the transmission went wierd, felt like the clutch couldn't be engaged. Back on the block, I dug in, and found that the adjustment screw on the rear of the tranny had mis-seated, simple fix after tearing the whole trans out and putting it all back.
It's sat for far too many months, and needed a new battery by this point. I finally picked one up yesterday, put it in today, and now the fuel pump isn't pumping. I get great crank, but no gas, and no gas smell out the pipe, either. I can't find any blown fuses or pinched wires, but neither have I hit it with a meter yet, either.
So now I'm looking for suggestions to get the fuel pump spinning so I can finally call this a "running bike". _________________ www.tidewaterforge.com |

For a simple to do, low cost fuel pump rehab (after you have verified that it is getting power), I might leave it submerged in Seafoam.
"De-gunkify" it.
Just my own suggestion.
Good luck.

Check the integrity of the 4 pin tank connector for corrosion. _________________ Regards Tim,

I just had to replace my fuel tank float assembly cause it had too much resistance and was melting the ground wire in the plug. Got a new float plate for about $145 and it is fine now. _________________ Ron

skdonlan had the same issue with his RS last year, fuel pump was cutting out and not running.
Problem was a broken conductor in the float assy where the electrical passed thru from the outside to the inside.
Replaced the assy and all was well. _________________ Ride safe.
