MY BRAKE LIGHT IS IN CONSTANTLY ON. The Telltale on the console goes out with tapping the foot pedal but BRAKE light still stays on . I REPLACED THE BULB. I AM TRAVELING AND I WORRIED ABOUT GETTING HIT FROM THE REAR. IS IT THE FRONT SWITCH THAT MIGHT BE FAULTY? thanks for any help.

It might be that the master cylinder piston on the front brake is not fully retracting - quite common if there's a build up of corrosion of the bore. Does the light go off if you push the brake lever all the way back? It might also be the microswitch itself - can you hear it click? _________________ 1980 CB900FA

If you have lost the switch lever (tied up with a rubber band in the picture), your brake light would stay on.

If you find that it is the front brake switch, you might want to temporarily pull the wires off the switch so that you can use both brakes and the rear will actuate the brake light.
I have replaced the front switch on two different K bikes. Seem to be somewhat fragile.
IIRC, someone here sprayed some WD-40 into a front brake light switch and restored it to functional. _________________ John & Cathy
