Hi just bought a carbtune to do my injectors on my 1994 K1100, has anyone used one? can you just connect the hoses or do you need the adaptors? Any tips?

The little clear plastic tubes that come with the carbtune have to be put in line with the hoses to dampen the movement of the steel indicator shafts. Otherwise it is just plug and play.

I love my carbtune, so much easier and less fragile than my old mercury tubes.

+1 on installing the restrictors, it's a MUST, just follow the set-up instructions.

You don't have to use the adapters on any bike that doesn't need them, in other words, just slip the rubber hoses over the spigots if you have them, or unscrew the screws and use the adapters on bikes without the spigots.
My K has spigots, so I assume they all do? Mine has rubber plugs, just pullem off and slip the rubber hoses on.

No real advice on using it, it's plug and play as RAL88 says, you'll get used to making small adjustments and waiting for the rods to move. Blip the throttle a little and make sure everything settles down.

Trial and error and you'll have this or any bike purring in no time. Synch a few friends bikes on the cheap and pay for the carbtune in no time!

Good luck!

Well I done it, it took 10 mins start to finish, it was running very well anyway and although I adjusted it, it was minimal.Anyway I'm very pleased, and to think I used to pay £30 a time for SPC to do this self same thing on an old K100 I use to own. I done as Duck advised, screwed number one adjuster all the way in then backed it out 1 1/2 turns then adjusted number 2 to that etc. I'm no mechanic and it makes me feel good when I do something I feel is positive. Changed the fork oil yesterday too. Another job I've always paid to have done. Now spline lubes!!!!
