Know it's the Holiday weekend.

Flew to Florida on Christmas Day with the family to keep my Father-in-law company after he lost his wife this past summer.

I know- mission of mercy........but holee crap- I HATE flying.

It's the

-giving over of all control of where or when

-feeling like cattle in the airport and on/off the plane

-being treated like a flippin' terrorist (TSA) in my own country

- being pushed down the airplane aisle by some HUGE a$$ with even bigger bags that they want to put in the overhead storage instead of 2 or 3 other passengers

But wait- the 4 ounces of water and the midget bag of peanuts that they allot us for the flight makes up for this Rolling Eyes

Happy Holidays

Hey you! out there on the road
Always doing what you're told, can you help me
Hey you! out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me
Hey you! don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall.

Oh hell YEAH. :rocknroll

I love Floyd.

What shall we use to fill the empty spaces
Where waves of hunger roar?
Shall we set out across the sea of faces
In search of more and more applause?
Shall we buy a new guitar?
Shall we drive a more powerful car?
Shall we work straight through the night?
Shall we get into fights?
Leave the lights on? Drop bombs?
Do tours of the east? Contract diseases?
Bury bones? Break up homes?
Send flowers by phone?
Take to drink? Go to shrinks?
Give up meat? Rarely sleep?
Keep people as pets?
Train dogs? Race rats?
Fill the attic with cash?
Bury treasure? Store up leisure?
But never relax at all
With our backs to the wall.

John,
If you were "Comfortably Numb", the flying experience would have been quite different... Wink

Hello,
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?

Come on
Now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again

Bill
(Another Floyd fan who hates flying)

Gwen & Bill,

No joke- I would MUCH rather drive the 20 hours than fly.

But I was out voted Crying or Very sad

Need to do some long distances this coming riding season.

We had the same experience when we flew for my sister Karen's service in Sept. So when my Dad passed away in Oct., we drove - 4 fourteen hour days down to Baton Rouge and back. Being treated like cattle and a terrorist - never again!

Happy New Year ! to all our friends at K11OOG.

Steven,

Thanks- thought I was alone in my dislike of airlines.

Gwen,

I am truly tempted. But time off is a huge negative in a single doc office. Crying or Very sad Gotta' think about this.........

Guys it's the same the whole world over. Every 3 weeks I take three airline rides to work and then reverse it three weeks later . You can take your pick of any of the domestic airlines in our country and get the same outcome, rude, indifferent service, usually late , herded like cattle and then told in their advertising what a fantastic experience you've just had??? Our classic was at Sydney airport. The security were busy taking nail files off little old ladies and their like while a band of hells angles had a full on riot that caused one death and completely escaped notice by security or our commonwealth police???
Two hours in the jet or a nice two day ride on the beema , it's a no brainer.
That's the angst gone, feeling better now.
Happy new year

135 Degrees ????

Only flown twice, once commercial. The other was in a light aircraft, brilliant.
Trouble is, SWMBO has never flown, seems I've got to take her on a flight for her 60th birthday. So I must suffer the same outcome, rude, indifferent service, usually late , herded like cattle and then told in their advertising what a fantastic experience you've just had???
HNY all,

Those ANGELS must have been sharp ANGLES , they walked out of Sydney airport untroubled by security etc.
Where is the spell check when you need it, duh.

I have always thought Chapter members to be on the blunt side, hence 135 degrees. Spell check wouldn't catch that one, are you sure you haven't got predictive text enabled? Laughing
