So after working on the R850 I've come to realize that I need to get off the cement floor.
I'm looking for a lift and because I don't have a lot of room for storage I was thinking about the Kendon 1000# folding lift.

http://www.kendonusa.com/cruiserlift.html

Does any one have any experience with these or have any other suggestions.

Thanks,

Rich:

We're using the low-end Harbor Freight lift down here in El Paso: works perfectly fine for the K75, the K11s and Joel's R1100. I've had my K12LT up on it as well; no problems with the support but that's a lot of bike to move up onto the lift.

One of the K11s is up on it at the moment, and probably won't be coming off anytime soon, so if you have the time to take a ride to El Paso, come on down and see for yourself. Joel's working but I'm retired; we can even put you up for the night.

Rich
I've had one of those generic chinese hydraulic bike lifts for a few years now. It does the K1100 and the 1200 without any problems . I stand to do anything at bar height and sit on a wheeled seat for the low stuff. My back thinks it was well worth the few hundred it cost.

Rich, this is the lift that MR and myself have.

http://www.completehydraulic.com/lifts-motorcycle-tcml.html

Same style and design as the Handy brand at about 1/2 the cost.

Rich,
This is the one I have : http://stores.pitbullbikershop.com/-strse-4/Honda-PITBULL-MOTORCYCLE-LIFT/Detail.bok
Got a sweet deal from a riding buddy.
It lifts the Goldwing or the LT nicely and is super stable.

That's my $.02

Thanks for all the reply and options. For those that have the full size lifts how do you store them. I would need to lean it on its side against the wall to give me enough room for the bikes. Does anyone store them this way or do you just leave it flat?

Rich, I leave mine in the middle of the garage floor and back my truck over top of it. I happen to have a K2500 4x4 full size chevy.

If I had to put my wife's Taurus in the garage I'd just roll it to the other side and put it under the boat.(the lift, not the ford......Laughing)

I think that Special K Larry recessed his into the garage floor.

Rich,

I used to do this Crying or Very sad

Now I do this Very Happy

While I do have 2 deep garage bays, I have tilted the lift on edge and stored it along the wall.

It is SO NICE to sit on a stool and have the engine at eye level. One of the best tools I ever bought.

^ I checked out the website on the side of your lift and they directed me to a dealer 60 miles away. Can I ask for a ballpark figure for that lift? Thanks.

John,

IIRC, about $750. The thing is rock solid.

It came with the front wheel clamp, a shorter, steep ramp plus a longer (3') ramp. Using the longer ramp I can easily roll my K bike up by myself- engine off.

It also came with a little dolly that hooks onto the back and allows the lift to be rolled around the garage. Some other companies just supply the lift and the wheel holder and dolly are extra.

BTW, those guys "60 miles away" (NH Pro Equipment) are a funny pair of gents. They were recommended to me by my local Snap-on guy.

The closest place I have to pick up a lift is 325 miles away so they have to be shipped. So far the cheapest rate I can find is $200.
