|
|
Hello
I am trying to install Keiss heated grips on my RS. But I got stuck trying to remove the handlebar weights.
I turn the weights anticlockwise, now these are turning loose but not comming out.
Am I missing something here?
Cheers,

You must first remove the plastic covers, to get to the recessed screws at the outer end.

I tried that but stopped because it looks like the plastic will get damaged (out of shape or even broken)....
Would the plastic get damaged anyway?
I am trying to take the plastic off with the help of a flat screwdriver.

Got it out now!
Looks like the plastic was never removed before, so it was totally stuck to the metal with corrosion acting as glue.

I took the opportunity when I did this to throw away the original bar ends and fit some super heavy weight ones to dampen out the buzz a bit _________________ There is only now, yesterday is gone and is unchangeable, tomorrow is uncertain. Live in the moment. |

Thanks, Which end weights did you bought?
I am going to need new weights anyway as the original ones are a bit short in lenght for my new heated grips.... so now I have a 6mm gap between the weight and the new grips. _________________ K1100 RS 1995 |

Hi Damian
As I view the bike as a keeper I invested in these from the US

I'm very pleased with them

Holy snappers, those are half a kilo!. You could use them as dumbells for exercising after a long days ride _________________ K1100RS '97
