WELCOME!
I like your K bikes.
The build looks good on the chopper even though I am not a fan of easy rider bikes.
How do you like the newer K bike vs. the older 8 valve?

Hi John
The old '86 K100RS a wash very good bike only i change the suspension for a White- Power frontsprings and rearshock that make the bike feels mutch better on the road.
I sold the bike in '89 change in for a Honda VF1000R
The new '97 K1100Rs feels much heavier with slow driving , but drives better mutch smoothly and more power , better stering at all . i whil change the rearshok to in the future ( to soft for better stering.) |

Gidday,
I joined just last week and live in Oz, the lower part so welcome aboard and from what I have found so far they are a great, helpful bunch of people on here...
Always loved the look of the RS, you have a nice 1100 there.
Speaking of rear shockers:
I have just noticed that my rear shock is a new looking KONI and with this question coming from a new K owner could anyone recommend a good settling to start with or should I just take a guess and aim for mid range.
Cheers

Good to see another K11 in the right colour
With the Koni, it may be worn out depending on how many miles it's done. Th Koni name in shocks stopped being used about 10+ years ago, all the machining and tools to make them were bought by an OZ company in Albury and re-released as Ikon . I have an Ikon on the K and a pair on the Lav and like them. http://www.ikonsuspension.com/index.shtml
For the Koni, start with the damping on 2 and if it pogos turn it up a notch at a time. Pre-load you adjust so it doesn't bottom out on your favourite bumpy roads.
Ikon will rebuild them for less than a new one and can change spring rates/damping to suit your weight etc. _________________ K1100RS '97
