Gidday,
Today I drained the folk oil on my newly acquired LT and the right side came out black and the left side was like new...
Are bike shops cutting corners on services?
Or do I have an hidden problem that I am not a where of?
Also in regards to brake fluid changes, I was going to change it also but being new to ABS brakes when i read up about what's involved all I have is a nipple bleeder that I use on my old R100rs, you know the type?
You keep the master cylinder fluid full as you go and pull the lever to bleed it through, is it possible to do an ABS system like this??

Not likely if it was just black. The last fork oil change may have only been the one side. Change both now and check/change them again in a year. (Be careful not to overtighten those fork drain screws, that aluminum is very soft and will strip out quite easily)

You will find two more bleeder nipples on the top of the ABS modulator under the seat. Bleed there first and then at the calipers. The rear nipple is for the front brakes, if I recall correctly.
I use a vacuum pump to suck the new fluid in and the old out 'cause I'm lazy. A one-man brake bleeder is another option.

Gidday Bill,
Yep all done and test ridden feels good and now in the shed, thanks for the tips.
I am finding some hit and miss things with the bike as far as prior maintenance goes, things not cleaned properly which shits me off big time.
I will have a go next week at the brakes, running out of time today, kids to pick up and drop off all around the place this afternoon.
Love riding it with nice roll on power, bloody thing loves to revvvv.
