I thought I'd do a little ride before coming up to Hungry Mother next month. Has anyone rode the Natchez Trace Trail? Any points of interest I should see in Alabama and Mississippi? I'm thinking this route because it will fill in my Southern states on my ride map and the scenery/weather should be nice this time of year. I'll head out Tuesday after dropping my car off at the body shop. It got nicked up pretty good last month in a hail storm in Atlanta. _________________ 1995 K1100 LT

We jumped on the Trace's north end a couple of years ago and had spirited ride for a short while. Before long the curves straightened out and the 45 speed limit became a real drag.
In my opinion it doesn't hold a candle to the BR Parkway. Of course we didn't ride the Natchez all the way to the end, so we may have missed something further south.
See ya at HM soon. _________________ '93 K1100LT

Well, I rode it. I traveled South to North for all but about the last 80 miles. Your right Bob, it's not a particularly exciting road for riding. However, the scenery was nice varying from huge oak trees covered with the hanging Spanish moss to bayous, lakes and fields of all colors in spring blooms. The speed limit is now up to 50,so I was only over a little. Basically had the road to myself. I got off up in Tennessee to go visit my old buddy Jack in Lynchburg. Heading home I found some great roads outside of Chattanooga heading Southeast. Hwy 64 to Hwy 129 and then to Hwy 76 were some awesome roads. Part of this goes by the 1996 Olympic Whitewater competition course. I'm not disappointed I did it, but as you said the BRP is so much better. I covered 1729 miles and averaged about 46 mpg. _________________ 1995 K1100 LT
