Looks like tire technology/progress is finally leaving us K100RS4V and K1100RS owners behind.
As everyone probably knows, the current and probably future standard for sport and sport-touring bikes is 17" diameter front and rear. Even World Superbike has changed from a race spec 16.5" to 17".
The new Pilot Road 4 tires aren't made in an 18" rear. (as of today).
BUT at the same time, LT owners might be in luck? The PR4 come in 120/70-18 front and 150/70-17.
I did a search and I see more than one LT owner running those sizes. If so then the latest technology in sport-tour tires is waiting for you. _________________ John & Cathy

My problem now isn't finding tires - it's finding time to wear them out!
Thanks, John - good to know! _________________ Jim

+1
I hear you there Jim, other than to work and back I'm not getting too many miles along either.
Granted this time of year I'm not getting any period, but that's a whole other issue..... _________________ Ride safe.

I'm with you both on that NO TIME issue.
Last year with everything that went on (Jen's move to California and John's Police Academy) I rode the least amount since I've been back on bikes.
Total between the 2 bikes? Less than 5000 miles last year.
Hope this year is a bit better. _________________ John & Cathy

I got a pair of the PR3's a couple of years ago and I am way too happy with them and they are still available, so.. I might just have to buy another instead of moving to the 4's.. That said,I have to agree.. there simply should be 3 extra days a week; endurance of a leopard; and sunshine like the arctic circle so I could mile them out.. doesn't seem they are wearing much.. ah well, have to wait a couple more months to try again _________________ 95 K1100 RS

The fairly new BT-023s are good (and less expensive) tires as well. I put those on my LT (RS rear wheel) last summer and am very happy with them. Can't tell the difference from PR2s that were on there before. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
