I know, ABS 1 problems have been hashed out in a million threads.

This one is a little different than most.
New to me '93 K1100LT w/ 35K on the clock has no bulb monitor lamp or ABS lamp at any time.
When I turn the key on I can hear a relay ticking about once a second, of course if I start the bike and go up the street I can't tell if it stops.

I lifted the fuel tank up and checked in the relay box, all ABS relays and the bulb monitor device are installed.
It seems like someone didn't care for the flashing lamps and disconnected them somehow or there is a fault and they did the same thing rather than fix it.

The question for all the ABS gurus is this. If, you had to disconnect the bulbs for the ABS and bulb monitor but leave the relays etc. intact, how would you go about it?
Is there a connector somewhere under the tank that you could remove pins from or is it likely they pulled the bulbs from the cluster?

Thanks for any and all help. Don't really want to start ripping the bike apart looking for something that may not be there.

Dave

I would as the first thing checked if the lamps is present, I'll guess they isn't. (as the BMU warning doesn't function at all).

One way to tell if the ABS is working is to try it.

With no cars behind you, get the bike up yo about 25mph and slam on the rear brake. If the rear locks up then the ABS isn't working. If it goes chunk, chunk, chunk then it is working.

*This assumes that you have sufficient riding skills/experience to lock up a rear tire without biffing.
