The Clymer manual has a description of the fuel tank check valve. The tank vents INTO the crank case at when the fuel tank gets pressurized to 2.5 PSI.
My bike had this system, and the machine ran fine. It would occasionally make a groaning noise after it was shut down on a hod day as this check valve relieved the pressure in the tank as the fuel expanded.
What are folks doing with this valve? Using it? Venting to the atmosphere?
Any thoughts are appreciated!
Thank you!

I'll move this to tech for more responses.
Personally I removed the venting lines to the crankcase.
I installed the "air accumulator" a.k.a. "the cup" that allows the tank to vent to the atmosphere as well as collect the rain drain from the fill cap edge.
I have had a tendency to overfill the tank sometimes and was having the over-filled fuel then ending up in the engine oil....... _________________ Ride safe.
