Argh! Weirdness returns, it's as tho, sometimes, my speedo is warming up. There is a lag as the speedo needle catches up with actual speed, then, briefly, it over-read by 15mph at 80mph! V worrying. I have cleaned the contact inside the speedo itself, remade the connector by the right side panel and am stuck. 90% of the time it is perfect, honestly officer. The other 10% is v disturbing. What could it be? _________________ K1100LT 1993

I had some speedometer weirdness a few years back, never did figure it out for sure but when I replaced the battery I also disconnected and cleaned every electrical connector I could find and its worked ever since.
good luck _________________ Mike Currin

Sounds more mechanical than electrical. Have you checked the servo motor and needle for any foreign matter that might be hanging it up? Careful cleaning around the pivot with a subtle paintbrush and some alcohol might help. Bench test the speedo with Karamba _________________ - Robert
