I just put these in my K11 last spring. They're a great improvement over the stock ones, but not enough rate for me and my sidecar, so I've ordered bigger ones. These are like new, and will come with machined spacers that go on the end of the dampers so that the bigger Racetech spring clears everything nicely, and a second machined bit made so that the plastic spacer tube remains centered - the Racetech washer solution leaves a lot to be desired. I can cut the spacer tube pretty close to your requirements, so this will be close to a drop in replacement for your stock springs.
Racetech recommends this rate for a 195-205 lb solo rider, give or take.

These springs will fit a 95k11lt? I ride a lot by myself, but the stock springs don't seem to be strong enough to hold the front up with the faring on it!? _________________ 1995 k1100lt daily ride(22953)when I got it

Hey Keith!
at $75 you should buy these. YES, they should fit your LT.
The ride will be sweet!
Be prepared to take apart the WHOLE fork leg and CLEAN everything out. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

JP
You think the guts of the forks of the 93 & 95 are the same and they will fit?
I got some springs from the Louisville stealer and hade a bike accessory dealer put them in when they did the fork seals, but they told me they didn't fit my forks?
My forks seem to need help, the bike seems to scrunch them down with the weight of the bike. _________________ 1995 k1100lt daily ride(22953)when I got it

Sorry, I don;t know if they are the same.
Looking at parts fiche does not seem to help me.
Dr. Drake to the courtesy phone.
Or you could try to e-mail a couple of suppliers of teh spings.
I put mine in and it's a big improvement. Need to get the spacer just right though. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

How do/will I know I've got the spacer cut correctly?
If he put them in his bike, aren't the spacers already cut?

YEP!!! Sounds to me like he has them cut for you already! So good to go!
I THOUGHT I had mine cut right, but now after 15,000 miles I think I need to add another 1/4" back in.
Still rides and handles just fine, only being picky. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Sorry all - I was vacationing this week on a remote island with (gasp) no cell or internet; I'm just catching up now.
I actually don't have the original spacers I used, but I have material and tools to cut them. My notes show 5 5/8ths as the length that worked out for me; I'd recommend 5 1/2" as a pretty good guess for a 200lb rider. The only way to really do it right is twice - put them together with any spacers, measure your sag, then lengthen/shorten accordingly.

Sam do you know if you can use the stock bmw spacers?
What is the material they use? Kinda like sch.40 PVC pipe, the white drain pipe stuff?

You could use the BMW spacers but they would be way too short. I do have a spare pair of BMW ones, so I suppose I could cut mini spacers out of them and then you could use those, and your stock spacers to get the right length. Or I'll cut a set of PVC ones for you.
And yes, Racetech uses schedule 40 PVC for theirs.
