Had lots of camping gear on it. Pretty sure the rider was traveling with another rider on an R12.
I don't see a lot of K11s on the road. Good to see one now and then. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Wish I could say it was me - that would mean I was on a road trip. Which would be awesome.
Sadly, the K is in the shop - again. With more than $3,000.00 in damage. _________________ Jim

Nothing worth posting - trashed the side cases - they'll have to be replaced (I guess they backed into the one on the left - the other one hit the curb).
Except for the side cases, it's mostly paint damage - no plastic pieces to replace - body work and repaint. One of the engine guards has to be replaced - and the fairing bracket.
The R100 is parked on the front porch... _________________ Jim

They are not all that common over on ths side of the pond either. I don't know why because they have hardly any of the problems that beset later bikes from BMW and they are none the worse for that.
Is it because the are too heavy for some to handle? Is it because they are 'not the latest' MUST HAVE motorcycle.
The prices are a bit depressed and if you find a good one you will get a lot of bike for your money _________________ 1997 K1100LT

Jim - I've never had a bike backed over but know a few friends that have. (And it's why I got my 94 RS so cheap.)
I have a smoked tall windscreen on my LT. It's not really good when I put it up in the rain since it makes it harder to see in cloudy/rainy weather but my theory is that it makes the bike easier to see in the rear view mirror when some doofus is backing up.
Grunter - Yep, they're heavy and top heavy but despite that mine has always been great for touring.... _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Sad hear this!
I remember how beautifull your K11 was.
Happy to know you are ok!

Thanks, Gui. It'll be beautiful again - no problem. Found a painter in VA that uses Glasurit. I could paint it police white - but I really like the canyon red and fjord grey.

OUCH!, I just did the currency conversion and its a few hundred more that I paid for my RS ($3600 AUD).
It should be pretty flash when you get it back, I keep hearing that the red ones are faster, but I must admit that I prefer blue. _________________ 1994 K1100 RS -Midlife Blue
I just spent the last five minutes thinking of something witty to say, its obviously going to take a bit longer, I'll get back to you.
