I'm guessing it was supposed to be $199? I checked their other items, they have a lot of old dealer brochures, looks like someone bought a closed dealership.

And, it's only money, you can't take it with you...

Consider that nine years ago (the very first HMSP), there were all of eight K1100LT gas tanks left on the shelf in Berlin. $1,200.00 in primer, and $1,800.00 painted (and I'm not sure that's for a two color paint job with pin stripes).

Assume those tanks were sold, and no more were made (it could happen). Although not new, and it would need to be repainted to make it perfect, I'd say that's a fairly high but not terrible price if you need a tank in good shape. The inside is nice and shiny...

I lucked out and found one several or more years ago on IBMWR.org - the same color as my bike - with only one little chip in one of the pin stripes - for less than $300.00. It was taken off a K that was getting a color change or something - not a part out. The tank looks new - insulation on the bottom had been removed. I considered myself very fortunate to find that one.
